NYWS Founder W. R. Tish—known to many simply as Tish, and @tishwine on Twitter—has been writing and speaking about wine and food for more than 20 years. He spent much of that time as the editor of Wine Enthusiast. More recently he was the founding editor of PalatePress.com. And via his wine-event firm Wine For All, what most people call eating and drinking, he gets to call research and development.

For the past 15 years, Sasha Smith has spent the vast majority of her free time studying, tasting, drinking, selling and writing about wine. Alice Feiring has been published in multiple glossies as well as the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, winning a James Beard award in 2002 for her Times piece on the many ways wine can be manipulated. She is the author of The Battle for Love and Wine (Harcourt, 2008) and the forthcoming Naked Wine (Perseus Books, 2011) on one of her favorite topics: natural wines. Alice blogs at The Feiring Line.

Not long after, she dove headfirst into the wine business and has held positions on both the importer and marketing sides of the biz. NYWS PR/Marketing Director Joe Janish has been a wine marketing professional for 15 years, promoting industry icons as well as putting "boutique" producers on the map. He launched one of the first wine importer websites in the mid-1990s as well as one of the first wine blogs (though no one called them "blogs" back then). Joe learned about wine from MWs, world-class winemakers, and through visiting wine regions throughout the world. After critiquing wines and restaurants for a major Midwestern newspaper, Creative Director Paul Paauwe felt a different approach was needed, so while living abroad, he took part in la vendange in Champagne.
