Gewürz: now in season

Lucien Albrecht 2009 Gewürztraminer Reserve, Alsace, France (13%)
$21 at Heights Château Fine Wine & Spirits
The bright side to the warmer weather slipping away is that one can always find a little solace with some fuller whites. This well-priced Gewürztraminer has a rose petal nose with spicy accents that foreshadow fall cuisine. Full, almost oily on the tongue, it tastes of grapefruit, peach and lychee with a tinge of honey sweetness. Was beautiful with a just ripe Époisse at a tasting, but need to try it with a salty crisp skinned roast chicken.
