Sad to say that I probably had one of the last grilled chickens of the season this past weekend, but this interesting red made the lunch a bit more cheery. Crafted from a grape of probable Greek background, the Uva di Troia makes a rather rich red purple-robed wine that has an herby dark cherry and plum nose. Medium-bodied with moderate astringency, this food-friendly south Italian red has a rustic edge, just the thing with the grilled fowl.
