Beguiling high-end blend

Matthiasson 2008 White Table Wine, Napa Valley (13.6%)
$38.99 at California Wine Merchants
This is my secret-weapon white. A beguiling blend of 58% Sauvignon Blanc, 22% Semillon and two Italian-grape ringers (Ribolla Gialla and Tocai Friuliano) that never fails to impress. Complex stone and citrus nose preveiws more of the same on the palate, plus fig, with gorgeous viscosity and length. A mouthful and a half. This is the eponymous wine of one of Napa’s less-heralded but way-talented consultants. Pricey, yes, but more rewarding than Chards at same $$$ level. Have had multiple vintages; all consistent.
